Confined Space

What We Do

As the term suggests a confined space is a restricted and often cramped situation such as culverts, tunnels, vessels and manholes. In conjunction with our commercial diving skills, ADS teams are fully qualified and equipped to undertake all facets of working in a confined space setting.

As a company we carry out structural inspections and assessments for local authorities, and utility companies which include confined space operations. We ensure that all entries will have the support and supervision of a minimum three-man team. In addition, all personnel are appropriately trained in confined space and first aid. Equipped with necessary personal protective equipment (P.P.E.). All other equipment required, including breathing apparatus, gas monitors, ropes, harnesses, winches, carabineers and fall/rescue equipment are tested and regularly checked. If access to an inaccessible area is necessary, CCTV cameras can be deployed, enabling us to evaluate the condition of the structure. Prior to the commencement of any project, a risk assessment will be made.

At ADS, we supply our own personnel to undertake inspection work in confined spaces, or alternatively provide a bespoke package including safe systems work. Equipment and assistance for clients who wish to carry out their own inspections.

Our safe system of works is designed to satisfy the stringent health and safety checks with all works completed to the complete satisfaction of the client.
